The 2025 Subaru Outback continues the model's sixth generation with only a few changes to its Limited trim level. Features like a sunroof, a heated steering wheel, and a DriverFocus Distraction Mitigation system, which were previously part of an unnamed package, are now part of the Outback Limited's standard equipment list.
Performance
A 2.5-liter BOXER four-cylinder engine provides the Subaru Outback's standard propulsion, generating 182 horsepower and 176 pound-feet of torque. A Lineartronic® CVT helps optimize efficiency and responsiveness, while Symmetrical All-Wheel-Drive delivers surefooted handling for all four seasons. An 8.7-inch ground clearance makes it easier to drive on snowy roads or uneven paths, and the standard X-MODE® traction management system automatically adjusts vehicle dynamics for more grip on loose or slippery surfaces. Want something more potent to power your Titusville travels? The Outback's XT and Wilderness trims upgraded turbocharged 2.4-liter engine with 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque.
Subaru Outback Wilderness
While the Subaru Outback can venture off-road in any configuration, the adventure-ready Wilderness trim takes that capability to the next level. In addition to terrain-tuned suspension and increased ground clearance (9.5 inches), the Outback Wilderness also has a revised final drive ratio, Yokohama GEOLANDAR® all-terrain tires, and a dual-function X-MODE® system with settings for Snow/Dirt and Deep Snow/Mud. Other amenities include a 180-degree front-facing camera and reinforced roof rails (700 pounds stationary; 200 pounds moving) that are great for a rooftop tent.
Interior and Versatility
The Subaru Outback is spacious and accommodating, sporting refined styling, ample headroom and legroom, and well-cushioned and supportive seats renowned for long-distance comfort. The cargo area reserves 32.6 cubic feet to carry luggage, groceries, or gear.
