The Outback lineup features two available engine options. If you upgrade to an XT or Wilderness trim level, you'll be rewarded with a sportier 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque, giving you a more exciting driving experience without sacrificing fuel economy. All models use a continuously variable automatic transmission, with select models featuring steering-wheel mounted paddle shifters that give you better command behind the wheel.

The 2026 Subaru Outback lineup is completely redesigned for 2026. The exterior is updated in every way, with a more rugged style that's sure to impress any passerby. All models have more cargo space than before, thanks to their flatter roofline. Upgrading to a Wilderness model will increase ground clearance from the regular 8.7 inches to 9.5 inches, with all models coming with front skid plates. There are also all-terrain tires, reinforced roof rails, and much more.

All the new 2026 Subaru Outback models have a redesigned exterior and interior.
